C3 Wellness Spa
3001 Hillsborough Street · Open seven days
Massage and licensed physical therapy on Hillsborough Street, with facials, waxing and the salt booth for the rest of you. Open until eight on weeknights, which is when you need it.
$85 or less for your first massage or facial. Free validated parking. We bill major medical, VA benefits and CareCredit.
The reason you are here
You have had a massage before. It was lovely. Someone you had never met worked on your back for an hour, nobody asked what was actually wrong, and by the middle of the week the knot was back exactly where it started.
That is the difference between a treatment and an appointment.
Why ours hold
Licensed physical therapists. Licensed acupuncturists. Licensed massage therapists. Estheticians. All of them in one building, all of them able to hand you to each other when your neck turns out to be your shoulder.
Start here
You should not have to know whether you need a massage, a physical therapist or something else entirely before you book. Three to five questions, depending on your answers, and we will say where we would start you, and why. If the honest answer is that you need an assessment rather than an hour on a table, it will say that.
Five doors. Pick the closest and the next question narrows it.
This changes our answer more than anything else you will tell us.
Skin work starts with a consultation, never with a treatment booked blind.
Massage, physical therapy and acupuncture can be billable when a licensed clinician performs them. Checking costs nothing and you owe nothing if the answer is nothing.
This only changes how far ahead to book.
Where we would start you
Have us check your benefits before you book. It costs nothing and you owe nothing if the answer is nothing.
People in your position also book
The couples suite
The room people book this place for. Two licensed therapists work at the same time, so you both start and finish at the same moment rather than taking turns. The suite has its own air-jet tub, a shower and a screen, and it is yours for the whole appointment.
Couples Massage runs $240 for fifty minutes or $335 for eighty, for both people. Couples Immerse stretches it to eighty minutes at $400, or a hundred and ten at $450 with a charcuterie board and a glass of wine each waiting when you come out.
This is the one treatment you cannot book online. Two therapists have to be free at the same hour, so the front desk arranges it by phone.

Memberships
One treatment a month, a discount on everything else you book, and the salt booth for you and a guest. No joining fee. Unused months roll over. The term is twelve months, and cancelling early costs one month’s fee. These are the only prices on this site that start at $80.
$80per month
$110per month
$135per month
Not sure yet? The Flex Pass buys a block of hours you can spend on anything and share with anyone, with no monthly commitment. See the Flex Pass.
Salt & Sound Booth
Dry salt, low light and sound, in a booth built for it. People come in for congestion, for skin, and for the fact that it is the only fifteen minutes of the day nobody can reach them. It costs $15, and it is the quietest room on Hillsborough Street.
Paying for it
Massage, physical therapy and acupuncture are billable to medical insurance when they are performed by licensed clinicians. Ours are. We also take VA benefits, CareCredit, and HSA or FSA cards.
Tell us your plan and we will check what it covers before you book. It costs nothing and you owe nothing if the answer is nothing.
Plans we bill
These are the plans we are set up to bill in North Carolina. Coverage varies by plan and by treatment, so tell us yours and we will check it before you book.

NC State
We are on the ground floor of Stanhope, on Hillsborough Street. You can walk here between classes, and we are open until eight on weeknights for the people who cannot. If you drive, parking in the garage is free once we validate your ticket.
Show a valid college ID and you take 15% off any individual service. North Carolina also lets you see a physical therapist without a referral from anyone.
Before you book
In the Stanhope parking garage, and it is free. Pull a ticket on your way in, bring it up to the front desk with you, and we validate it while you are here. You pay nothing for parking. This is the question we get asked most, so now you have the answer before you arrive.
Your first massage or facial at C3 Wellness Spa is $85, or the menu price if that is lower. After that a 60-minute Swedish is $110, therapeutic $125 and deep tissue $130, rising to $150, $160 and $170 at ninety minutes. Members pay less: a Platinum membership is $80 a month and includes a 60-minute treatment, which is where the $80 figure comes from. Students with a valid college ID take 15% off any individual service.
On your first visit, yes. There is a short intake and liability form, and a separate photo release that is entirely optional. Say no to the photo release and nothing changes about your treatment. Arriving ten minutes early gets both done without eating into your hour.
Sometimes. Massage, physical therapy and acupuncture can be billed to medical insurance when a licensed clinician performs them and there is a medical reason on file. We bill Aetna, AARP, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Medicare, UnitedHealthcare and VA Community Care. Send us your plan and we will check before you book, at no cost.
No. North Carolina has unrestricted direct access, so you can see a licensed physical therapist without a referral from anyone, with no visit cap and no time limit. Your insurance may still want paperwork, which is a separate question, and we will tell you what yours needs.
Massage treats tension and circulation. Physical therapy evaluates and rehabilitates an injury, and it is delivered by a licensed physical therapist who can bill your insurance. C3 Wellness Spa has both in the same building, so if you book one and need the other, we move you.
You sit in a booth for fifteen minutes breathing air carrying fine dry salt, with low light and sound. People come to us for congestion, for asthma, for skin, and for stress, and halotherapy is promoted for exactly that. It is a complement to whatever your doctor already has you on, never a replacement, and we will not tell you it cures anything. It costs $15.
Usually, especially weekday mornings and early afternoons. Evenings and Saturdays fill first, so book those a few days ahead. Couples treatments need a phone call because they take two therapists.
Tipping is optional and always appreciated. The usual range is fifteen to twenty percent. If your visit is billed to insurance, tipping on a clinical treatment is not expected, and nobody will think anything of it either way.
No. Book once, book never again, or book every week. Memberships save money if you come monthly, but nothing on this site requires one and no price shown here is a member-only price.
Give us 24 hours and there is no charge. Arrive late and you get the time that is left, because the person after you booked their hour too. Cancel inside 24 hours, or miss it entirely, and we charge the full value of the service.
